I was watching tv around a friend's house, and noticed something strange on his Channel 5.

On my Sky Digibox, Channel 5 programmes such as CSI and Dawsons Creek are shown in proper widescreen, with the image filling out the whole screen, but the same programmes through my mate's Freeview box are shown with the black bars down the sides.

We checked the digital receivers settings, and they were correctly set to 16:9. He also got proper widescreen on the other main channels without any problems.

Does anyone else have this problem with their Freeview box. :(

    Thanks.

Some broadcasts are 16:9 and others like the news for example are 4:3, just depends.
