Some of my material I have at home is in XVID format, does DIVX players also recoginse this CODEC format?

I would have thought they all should play xvid with no problems but you can never guarantee it as it depends on whether the player is happy with the encode.

Check the forums for recommendations on a good divx player. If by some chance it doesnt play your files use Virtualdub to re-encode the file into divx, avi etc. Re-encoding is pretty straightforward and you'll be able to find plenty of tutorials on the net.

I am currently re-encoding any XVID or DIVX to DVD by using Nero Vision Express.

Fingers crossed that my new player will play both XVID and DIVX (got my eye on the Denon 1930).

Divx compatible dvd players should play xvids as well. Its not always listed but mediatek, zoran, sigma and most other chipset players will do xvids....even Sony divx players !

Yes, Denon can paly Xvid and Divx. Just tried on my one.
It depends on encoding of those video.

cheers
