I'm looking to buy a £1,000 LCD and this model seems to get all the plaudits not only on this site but by reviewers. Just wondered if it has any major drawbacks or if anyone regrets getting one......?

I got mine two weeks ago for £1023 (see http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=262433&page=146 for price tips)and have been very pleased with it so far. However one minor point is that if you intend to (also) use it with a PC (via VGA or HDMI) then the resolutions are limited to a good set but not as many as some of us tinkerers would want, namely there doesn't appear to be a support for native resolution for PC usage, or atleast not everyone has been able to do it. See http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3348173 for all teh fun details.

Other than this minor point, its very good TV for the price, and I would certainly recommend it. You might want to read up this thread as well:

Enjoy! :)

Thanks a lot for that post - really helpful.

Fortunately I have no plans to use it with a PC. Although I'd like to buy a good speaker system to go with it. What do you use?

The eventual aim will to be to buy a SKY HD box and HD DVD pkayer when the prices comes down.

Cheers again

i have the 42" version and am not that impressed with the picture quality on standard def (SD). I am expecting great things when I get a HD source, but I would advise you not to expect perfect quality from the screen on normal SD sources, particularly if you are changing from a decent CRT TV. Reviews I have seen recently say similar things about the 37". In the August What Hifi it only got 3 stars! I'm not saying its not a good tv, but think carefully and see one working before you take the plunge:eek:
