Has anyone actually bought one of these?

Basically, from what I can work out is offers nothing (except sound - and who uses the PW7s sound) over the DVI card is this correct?

Does anyone know any UK stockist of these? I can't find anywhere with these cards in stock.

    Thanks

    Panny

I don't have one but I read on another thread that someone had got one from AV-Sales but they will only sell them if bought with a screen.

Yes I have one - got it late December from Av-Sales - and please don't ask how it compares to other connection types because I don't yet have an HDMI player - I'm still trying to choose between Denon 3910 and the Arcam DV79!

I can't believe I'm the only one (I think I saw another post?). I thought everyone was buying PW7's here? :)

Rasczak, I know its :offtopic: (infact its not even the right forum!) but I'd be interested to hear what decision you make re. DVD player. Any chance you can PM me with your decision when you come to it, and the reasons for it?

It would be much appreciated, mate - I'm in pretty much the same boat...

    Many thanks.

Certainly. It'll be a few weeks yet though. I have to trial the two machines and at present I just don't have the time.

What happens if you feed the HDMI card 50 HZ material as it only supports 60 HZ?

I thought the HDMI card was fine at 50Hz with 480/576 material ?

The reason I'm asking these questions is that I'm currently running my Pio 868 AVi-s to my PW7 via component (personally I'm happy with the picture - I couldn't see much difference between that and the 3910 component when I view them side by side - all be it on a pio plasma).

But alot of reviews I've read about the 868Avi-s say it really comes to life via its digital out - saying it has the best HDMI in its class. So I get the feeling I should try it. My assumptions are this:

    1. The HDMI and DVI card are pretty much identical (both HDCP, both display the same res and frequency including 50hz at SD).
    2. If I don't like the HDMI over component I can use the card for my HCPC.

So I'd be interested to know if these assupmtion are correct and this is worth doing. Also whether anyone believes there is any difference betweem the DVI and HMDI cards.

    Thanks

    Panny

We are, but obviously we are much further down the waiting lists for the HDMI cards than you were......
