We call it a bacon butty although I don't think butty is a regional name, quite common?...buttered bread, bacon and definitely brown sauce if I'm adding stuff, and/or some cheese.

    A bacon virgin :)

It can go either way....If cooked well you’ll love it, if cooked badly you’ll never eat it again :)

I do bacon on the charcoal BBQ, my son absolutely loves it. And any kind of sauce on bacon is blasphemy, why would you want to ruin its porky goodness.

Thank you for putting in an appearance, in many respects you may be the reason I made this thread. Would you mind sharing how you've rode this ride for so long without being introduced to the delights of well cooked swine?

    OCD much?

You must be the adventurous sort. Easy tiger! ;)

Speaking of HP Sauce, it most definitely doesn't taste the same as it used to. Darn reformulations, they're everywhere.

100% this. I love a bacon sarnie, unsmoked back bacon. We have wholemeal bread usually, but I occasionally have a "treat" and have white. With butter, obviously.
That's it - keep it simple..

Now - a fried-egg sarnie, with a runny yolk, demands ketchup.

Without giving away too much but the same way I've not tried almost everything. Majority of your favourite foods I'd put money on never having even tried.

You do realize you can't open a reply with "Without giving away too much..." and then launching into something like that. Do you live in a bubble perchance?

Great. So now my mind is working overtime.

What deeper game are you playing by ever turning down a bacon sandwich?

Red sauce for me, I'm not a northerner.
And none of that streaky rubbish either. Packet of bacon, two slices of white and a large dollop of red sauce. Heaven.

What is red sauce? Is that another way of saying Tomato Ketchup? It sounds like a euphemism for something else ;)

It's an ignorant/common/generic way of describing 'ketchup' at least around the uneducated North-Westerners it is.

Bacon and grated cheese sandwich - red sauce.

Bacon and hot marmalade - I sh*t you not.

Both with seeded brown bread and butter.

But we're generally chatting about bacon in the general chat section plus as anyone who has browsed the comments thus far will attest: Bacon is more than a food product, bacon is life.

    Why :p

    @SBT

Nothing wrong with decent quality streaky bacon with English mustard and red or brown.
