Was about 1953 when we had our first TV set but being out most evenings with pals or girlfriend, what little of it I glimpsed I found mostly boring so was never hooked until much later in life.

The first glimpse Of TV I remember was the 1953 Coronation around a neighbour’s house. It couldn’t have been more than a 12 inch, maybe less and half the street appeared to be gathered around. Didn’t stay long, I wasn’t much interested at that age.
Who would have guessed what a big part of our lives that would become ? A few years laterr Dad bought our first, a 17 inch Phillips, and that was it we were hooked.
