I have still got my old PACE analogue receiver and an analogue decoder from the good old days in the 90's before digital.

Would anyone have a use for this anywhere (ebay sale ?) or is it totally obsolete now ?

Analogue sat tv does still exist but not many people want it.
The box might fetch a fiver on Ebay.
If you attach it to an LNB and dish pointing at Astra at 19 degrees east or Hotbird at 13 east, you'll actually find quite a few (foreign) channels.
You can see what's available at www.lyngsat.com

Chris Muriel- normally in Manchester but currently in Herzliya near Tel Aviv
    (back home tomorrow)

More specifically. On Astra 19 deg east you can get Eurosport International free to air in English for most of the day and CNBC. Great if you have Freeview or don't want to pay Sky.

Not sure where to post this, but here seems as good as anywhere. Lidl are offering in their stores from today a Digital Satellite Receiver. Says its pre-programmed for Astra, Astra II EutelsatHotbird, Turksat, Amos Siruis and Hisoasat. Small print says 'Terrestial TV and Encrypted sky channels can not be received with this system. Includes remote control. The price is £39.99. A dish to go with it is being sold for £14.99 and a satellite finder meter for £3.99. Experience tells me that these supermarket bargains are not all they might seem, but at these prices it might be an interesting experiment. There's 3 years warranty.

I would imagine that there will be quite a few people buying these and wondering why they can receive BBC and not ITV :suicide:

Oops just read the advert again and you also need to buy the LNB to fit onto your dish. This will set you back another £3.99 ! - Have fun...
