    Hi,

I read a few things about being able to buy cheap optical cables, and have seen them for as little as £1.
I need to buy 2, since I am getting a toslink switcher, but am now worried after reading the posts that said to avoid Gold ?

Do I really need to avoid Gold ?

I have been looking at the cheapo's.. but they all look gold at the end :(
I just dont know where to go 2 get my optical cables that wont be duds.

    Any advice greatly appreciated

    Rob :)

The advise regarding "gold" with optical cables is the fact it makes no difference what so ever! So if you get a gold plated connector, your just paying the extra £££ for something you dont need! :lesson:

As above, the gold isn't really of any relevance to the photonic transfer. Don't worry about it being "included" but there's no sensible reason to go for gold plating in the first place. :)

Do a search for toslink at www.cpc.co.uk and you'll find loads of sensibly priced optical leads. You'll need to get the total over £30 for free shipping though. :)
