does a playstation 1 scart lead work with a ps2?

    does a playstation 1 scart lead work with a playstation2?

    also is it true that the original controllers for a playstation work with a ps2 but the ps1 memory cars do not?

    Yes, the PS1 scart will work with the PS2. (Thats what I have) and yep, a PS1 controller will work on the PS2 as I am using one.

    Your are also right as the PS1 memory card will not save any PS2 saves. (I have heard it will save PS1 saves, if played on the PS2)

    Just to add that with the memory cards, basically you use the type that corresponds to the game you're playing.

    If it's a PS1 title, use a PS1 memory card, for a PS2 title, use a PS2 card. I've used PS1 cards with my old PS1 games with no problems on my PS2.
