I've got a 1 metre van den Hul optical interconnect that does not seem to be letting any signal thru to my amp (Sony STR DE 475). I have used instead an analogue RCA that is working fine.

Can I check the cable somehow to see if it is working? The output from the DVD appears to be ok as when I remove the optical cable, there is light coming from the socket.

    any help greatly appreciated. :lease:

Is there any light coming from the interconnect when it's connected to the DVD player?

Looks like the fibre is broken or one of the toslink connectors has come away. Sorry...
