dodgy ntsc picture

    Hi there,

    I own a tosh Sd210E dvd player (chipped for multiregion) and an Hitachi C32WF525N tv and when I watch R1 films (in comp, S-video or rgb) I get an extremely poor picture: comp is essentially unwatchable, and s-video and rgb have serious flaws (contrasty lines across screen, aliasing etc).

    I'm a touch distraught because with my old 4:3 panasonic tv I at least got a watchable comp picture. However, now i can't get any kind of watchable pic at all from R1 output. Is my tv's ntsc reproduction fundamentally flawed and if so can anyone recommend a decent, low-priced ntsc convertor? Would i be able to get a rgb signal out of one or just a composite?

    Have you checked in the menus that you have ntsc selected?
