Since access via tapatalk and the app have gone, my time on the forum has gone down to maybe a couple of times a day

Is your Chrome up to date? I'm not having issues with Chrome, just select a few different posts 'quote' button and then load quotes below the text box

It's a royal pain to use AVF unless you are sat infront of a PC or screen size big enough to fit in all the adverts. The app allows you to browse and keep up to date whilst out and about.

It is missed and limits the usage, unlike other AV websites that support mobile usage.

It was useful but I am using the normal web(mobile) version on my iphone fine at the minute.

I've not read every last part of the updates but my understanding is that the tapatalk version is broken for xenoforo, its producing massive errors not just with this forum but with almost all that run xenforo, if thats the case is it really an option of bringing it back until that is fixed?

Yeah. I miss being able to load up the app when I'm out an about. From working in an office the most of the day the last thing I want to do is sit in front of a computer at home.

I enjoyed having the option of picking up my phone and glancing through the app while sitting on the sofa/toilet but all that is in the past.

Not too keen on using the browser option even though I'm using a Note 3 I just cant get on with it.

The web version is just too slow and clunky on my (dog slow and ancient) Galaxy s4

No better on my Kindle Fire HD either

I don't mind using the browser version on my tablet (although Id prefer not to) but on my phone its a pita. I understand and agree with the reasoning for taking it down but hope that it can be brought back in the not too distant future. Genuine question, was the issue with tapatalk and xenforo not apparent when the decision was taken to transfer the site?

cant be anything i can think of. works on every other forum i visit and IE too. i have js etc all setup and working fine. maybe its a cookie issue but still doesnt make sense as i use them myself on my own sites without issues.

at least its not taking 20 seconds to load the reply box. was a PITA yesterday.

The main web version just has too many JS enabled bells and whistles that I expect many people either don't know about, don't care about, and don't use. These features seem to be the reason the site was "upgraded" but all it has done is cause Tapatalk in incompatibilities resulting in restricting user's access and reducing content on the forums so has been totally counter productive.

I am sure that 90% of people that visit just want to post and read forum content and that is now worse than before.

I use my PC mostly, but I've been surprised at how much I miss the app. Obviously used it more than I thought.

The only time I log into a pc is at work or updating an Android phone, while I can access the forum from N5 or N7 it's not the smoothest site I've used.

The question is why isn't there a mobile app compatible with xenoforo or why don't the developers make an app?

On another thread Stuart said in response to saying people want the app:

Currently 90.6% of people miss the app and would like to see a return. Obviously these results are subject to change but it does seem that the original assertion (about how sorely missed it is) is correct.

Probably not, the point has been made, made again, made again, threatened, stropped about, made, made again and here we still are. Stuart is aware of how much you miss it, which you should all know, and is looking into it. At the risk of "towing the party line" can you just give it a break ? GC mods do not write machine code, nor do we have the ear of the people who may or may not be working on it. Stuart has said he will bring back some sort of, as yet undisclosed mobile interface, when he is 100% convinced it will work.

But hopefully something like this will make Stuart see that redesigning the mobile site is not the priority that the majority want (well the majority who post on here which is really all we have to go on.) What the majority want is the return of the app and I would suggest that resources should go into achieving that as the priority rather than spending a lot more time and money on the mobile site.

At least with something like a poll the result is clear and no one can hide behind "well you say it's what you want but you don't speak for other people."

This is going to make me seem like I'm towing the party line, but by making the poll public, the likelihood is that the people voting are going to be the vociferous few who have been lamenting the demise of the app.

Sorry, I'm confused there. did you mean "site" in the last word of the last sentence?

It very much does seem like you are towing the party line. How much more proof do you need? An anonymous poll? It would be very interesting to see the tapatalk usage figures and if activity has fallen over the last few days (other than the suggestion forum haha)

Think this was the reasoning to put the post here. Plenty of people who use GC won't even bother with the Feedback Section (? Feedback section, where? didn't know we had one, if you catch my drift :))

Should be forumwide IMO though. Get as many people voting as possible. Then the powers that be can look at it and perhaps think of working on the app rather the redesigning the mobile browser experience.

Nevertheless, what Stuart will see is that only 49 people are missing the app. How many resources should he throw at an app that only 49 people miss?

How does that work? Firstly the poll has just started and secondly there hasn't been a poll available to everyone, it's a sample.

Thanks :) I realise it's an issue a lot of you feel passionately about and I and the other mods do bring it to Stuart's attention. The posts that suggest the mods tow the party line because we are afraid of Stuart are hurtful and frankly, completely counter productive.
