When I run a frequency sweep (Digital Video Essentials) through my surround left speaker, at about 300Hz the speaker makes a buzzing noise.

Any idea what's causing this and can it be easily fixed???

It is a wall mounted Mission 77DS. I have tried sticking bluetac on the back to make sure it is not the case rattling against the wall and its not...

I had noticed the noice occasionally during film viewing and it is significantly distracting. With the frequecny sweep its really obvious.

    Thanks in anticipation...

Try swapping it with your surround right speaker. If the buzz swaps with it, it sounds like a duff speaker. If the buzz stays left, it could be your mount, something in the vicinity that is resonating, or a faulty channel. Keep swapping around until you pin it down.

Blimey is it really a month since I posted this!!

Thanks Yousanem, I've tried swapping the speaker and it is still buzzing!

Any ideas on how it could be fixed???

Its only occasionally evident during normal use but none the less, irritating. Particularly evident in the Balin's Tomb scene of FOTRing.
