We don't, but I would like one, however, my girlfriend says no. She says bedrooms shouldn't have a TV.

    What are your thoughts?

I wouldn't plan on watching it every evening, it's just she's recently started working late into the night and I quite fancy being able to wait up for her watching TV in bed. Would also be nice to watch morning TV on a lazy weekend.

Would appreciate replies from people living with their partner to get an accurate idea.

Yes, including Sky multiroom and HD. I don't watch much on it but my wife often goes to bed early and watches something she's recorded.

Nope. And we are moving house shortly, I asked the wife if she wanted one she gave a proper dont even dare.
Not even sure itd be used at all tbh.

If i proppa wanted to watch something in bed, Skygo or something on the ipad would suffice.

I have a wee 32'' with another rgh xbox and a wdtv - I'll get round to chucking a 50'' LED or my current TV if a projector can't happen.

I can't sleep without a TV on in the room, even if it's almost silent shuffling episodes of Family Guy or the like. I've had a Tv in my room probably since I was 11?? Yeah that sounds right I can remember pirating Empire Strikes Back from the only decent video store in the city.

I'm not quite that bad but I have it in every night as background noise to go to sleep to, with a timer on. If I don't then my mind will drift to thinking about work and I wouldn't get to sleep as easily

Probably should have have added 'I want to, but my wife won't let me' since that seems common among the whipped. :)

Yep we have one but rarely gets used for TV, most of the time it is used to display the CCTV cameras if we hear something in the night!

Mine living room shuts down a 4am and the bedroom at 3am as I'll be asleep by then. If I wake up 99% of the time I don't need to put it on again. I also can't lie in till 1pm... is this an old man thing?

No but like you Dan I think it would be good but my wife is dead against it...

Bedrooms are apparently for sleeping in - I pointed out they were for other things but she just laughed and poo-poo'd that suggestion :)

I am pretty sure a "poo-poo" is a court-marshall offence in its own right.

At the moment I do not watch much TV due to DIY commitments but sometimes I wish I had a bed where the TV rose like a pheonix at the foot of the bed and we could watch stuff on a lazy Sunday or if my wife wants to go and lie in bed early, I could join her and watch a wee bit TV.

I doubt it would be used loads but it would be used....

Only issue is I love beds like this:
Brodsworth hand carved wooden sleigh bed | Natural Finish
    (Empire Size of Course)

But would need something like this - which in our setting would be tragic:
TV Bed Ltd Azure TV Bed In Black 6' Super King Black TV Bed

40" on the wall opposite the bed.

    1375914251990.jpg

Doesn't get used much, but handy if we're watching something late at night, we can pause on Sky and go watch the rest in bed. Don't have multiroom, just a very long HDMI!

Also nothing beats staying in bed on a Saturday morning and chilling out watching telly. There's a bluray player in that wardrobe to the left too.

    Yes.

The idea had been myself and wifey would go up to bed early and sit with vino in bed watching a film etc.

    Never happened.

Kids watch Cbeebies stuff on it mainly at 7:00 am when they wake us up.

We have a 32" in the bedroom with a blu ray player, Apple TV and PS3 hooked up to it. Mainly gets used with the Apple TV for Sky news.

We recently had bedroom furniture made and incorporated a 32" into the plans. I only watch it if there's a match on and I'm getting showered or tidying up.

My wife sometimes watches it if I'm working away from home rather than sit downstairs on her own.

Does anyone have a TV built inside a bed where it rises up like in the ads ? One thing I have always wondered, what happens to the aerial and power lead ?

Despite initially thinking the same as you, Dan, I'd now agree with your girlfriend. We've got a TV and multiroom in the bedroom, but it's been a total waste of money. I haven't used it the way I thought I would. I'd rather sit in bed with the iPad.

If I wasn't such a geek I'd get rid of it. They really do spoilt the look of a well decorated bedroom, IMO. We've seen property ads for identical flats and the other bedrooms always look better than ours. Couldn't suss out why until we realised we were the only ones with a telly!

Ours only 32", I'd definitely get shot of it if it was any bigger. It would possibly look a bit better on the wall, but then we'd definitely be stuck with it.

Yes we do. I've always had only place I dare to watch a horror movie.

However don't use it much in the evening anymore. We use it mainly in the morning, got the news on whilst getting dressed, shaving etc.

Very handy as well when ill. We've got just integrated terrestrial digital television on it and an apple tv box providing access to our home library of movies.

We've got a 32" LCD in the bedroom with DVD player and Virgin HD box.

I very rarely use it but my wife often does.

TV in the bedroom kills the sex life, apparently :D no, we don't have one, I do currently agree that a bedroom is for sleeping in, just the same way I can't really stand eating in bed (the occasional breakfast in bed as a treat notwithstanding).

    32" to 360 with a connection to W7MC downstairs.

use it occasionally, it's a god send if you have the flu and you can lie in bed and watch something whilst suffering.

My daughter has one. No idea how it works though, I'll have to have look next time I go over there :)

Used to have a TV in the bedroom, but whenever I tried to watch anything I'd just fall asleep, so when it packed up I never replaced it:)

    Fair point.

I'm looking at this TV: Buy Panasonic Viera TX-L24X6B HD 720p LED Smart TV, 24" with Freeview HD online at John Lewis

We don't have much room and didn't want a huge screen. My brother has just bought the same TV for his bunk onboard his ship and it's very impressive.

Also, my brother rents my spare room, but he's now at sea for 7 months. Whilst he's away he's still paying for Sky multiroom. I could therefore pinch his Sky box for our bedroom to save it just sitting there without any use.
