So we have seen most of the offerings for OLED (microled still years away for Joe public) for 2019 previewed on here for the coming year, obviously the prices are not going to get competitive until BF so if your in the market for a new OLED do you buy now and hope to get a good price on 2018 or do you wait now?

I'm torn now what to do, I won't be gaming on a tv and tbh apart from Netflix and amazon prime there doesn't seem to be much 4k stuff around so I'm wondering whether to move my tv on now and buy a 2018 OLED, but in the back of my mind do I wait for HDMI 2.1 to future proof myself for the next 5-8 years...

Get a bargain 2017 set, if you can. The money you save can then go towards saving for a new TV with significant (for you) improvements in future

From my experience 6, 7, and 8 series are all amazing and I would be perfectly happy with any of them. No matter what you get breathtaking visuals and in my opinion it's all about panel lottery. I enjoyed my E6 more than C7 simply because the E6 panel was pristine and the 3D!

Currently got a C8 and it's absolutely stonking, love it! HDMI 2.1 is something I won't even get any functionality from for years so it's not really a big deal to me.

I think I'll be trying to get a C8 upon their final price drop before the C9 hits. Especially if there's a 2k price difference between the two

    Agree.

Though eliminating the lip sync issue is a definite plus, everything it brings I'm not bothered about either.

Yeah lip sync is the only selling point for me. I'm not going 4k anytime soon though. My internet is too slow for 4k streaming, and streaming makes up 90% viewing.

I've issues with blurays that come with 7.1 Master Audio tracks, the sync is always out. Switch to dolby surround and it's perfect. It's probably fixable using the delay settings, but the GF gets in a right huff when I start playing with settings.
