Do u have 2 use Media box on Hit 42PD3000 if you've got Sky+?

    Can u just use the Sky+ box as your tuner?

    All connections for scarts etc are on media box, which then has 1 connection to screen. However, sensor for remote is on screen...not on media box, so it can be hidden away, if required.

    Media box is actually quite useful for teletext. I find the Skytext inferior to analogue BBC Ceefax and ITV Teletext.

    Don't forget if you want to do this Hitachi make a screen just for you, the PMA400/500. Easy and cheap to connect with RGB and sync. cable, results are often very good. The down side is that you can't buy it from JL with a reassuring 5 yr warranty.

    So can the media box be hidden out of sight & still have full control over all things (incl. the Teletext??)

    Yes, you'll not lose any control over the media box if it is hidden as the remote sensor is on the screen itself.
