Or dark patches and illegible side scrolling text etc.

I'm interested in the Hitachi C42PD3000.

    Any comments?

The reviews of the Hitachi C42PD3000 seems to say no ghosting or smearing.

The reviews of the PD3000 all rave about its PQ. Not everyone in here agrees, however.

I have the PMA400 (same panel, but the "monitor" version) fed with RGB-s from my DVD player. Not a PQ buff but I think the picture is excellent.

    Thanks for that.

What's it like with or without RGB on Sky,Freeview etc?

Sky is not really a good medium to judge the PQ on. I think most of the plasma owners on here agree that the large screen really shows up how poor the Sky transmission quality is. Loads of over-compression artifacts, MPEG blurring around static logos, etc.

RGB-s looks noticably better than S-video or composite on my screen, from DVD and Sky. My VCR will only output composite.

Crappy ones like the Samsungs do. Don't think the LG's do but they've got their own problems...
