Take care Trappy.....like you say it does seem to good to be true....a 50 inch for almost the usual price of a 42....hopefully you have found a genuine bargin......check out the firm carefully and pay by credit card with protection if you go for it if you can....good luck

These will be imports from Europe for the Viera and US for the panels.

Why anyone would buy the US panel they advertise is quite beyond me - it would require a step-up power transformer to work and in any case you would have no warranty here in the UK for a US product.

    Stay away!

We are going to get more of these being offered due to the fact that Euro and US pricing is mow much cheaper than in the UK.

    Gussie :)

Their prices are all over the place - a 37PE50 is £1100 while the 42" is £1050 and the PV500 is dirt cheap...

Bargepole with touch a wouldn't it - an anogram of my advice

not sure if this aspect has been considered, but do you have the room size to handle a 50 inch? That is going to just dominate the room it goes in.

i wonder why you say that - the contact is through a chartered accountant whose name appears on the web site - anything dodgy and the institute of chartered accountants would be on them like a ton of bricks

Im certainly no expert but if you check the details of the website registration of topelectronics.biz it gives the following information.
Domain Registration Date: Fri Sep 30 17:45:46 GMT 2005
Does this mean that their website has only been in existence since 30092005 ? Small firms will oftem use postal addresses of their accountants. If you look at J Hayes Accountants on Companies House it shows the following
    ESANJAY LIMITED
    J G HAYES ACCOUNTANTS
    2 POLLARD COURT
    359-363 DERBY ROAD, LENTON
    NOTTS NG7 2DZ
    Company No. 04605172
Status: Dissolved 08/06/2004 Date of Incorporation: 29/11/2002

    Accounting Reference Date: 30/11
Last Accounts Made Up To: (NO ACCOUNTS FILED)
    Next Accounts Due: 29/09/2004
    Last Return Made Up To:
    Next Return Due: 27/12/2003

Is this saying that the accountants have been disolved and never filed any acounts ???

So you have a new company with possiblly no track record offering fantastic deals, who have an accountant that may have been disolved. Sounds quite a risk to me !!!!!!!!

I wonder if it's bankrupt stock or something like that? That would explain the bizarre pricing, old stock of Fujitsu, total absence of any technical knowlege of the product on the web site etc. Rather a lot of HD ready signs about the place? They know didly squat, but have some cheap kit and really, as sam says, they can't be that dodgy.

The contact details are just a 'care of' address. Just doesn't fill me with confidence - and would be quite interested to know if the accountants know their company name and details are being used as the main contact...

Normally when you see stuff like this it is too good to be true, and my gut feeling is this is probably the case...

In fact just decided to go through the purchase process... tax of £400 added, £60 shipping charge and the only way they accept payment is bank transfer. Don't think I'll be bagging this bargain.

Yeah now it looks like its asking for a bit more trouble than its worth, even paying with buyer protection you'd still have the hassle of claiming and such

A quick look at the registration info for the topelectricals.biz shows it's being run out of Yahoo (traceroute confirms).

if i have just had a look at the site 123electrics4me and can find nothing to tie it with the company mentioned in the thread

mods might like to check to avoid a 'legal situation' by the mentioning of another seemingly unrelated company

This name is similar to a valid company nearby which I've used without a problem - 365electrical.com Just thought I'd make sure no-one gets them confused.

This scam has been going on under various domain names for some time. Either it's the same guy or people copying it. Sad.
