choice is.... do i spend less on amp and more on speakers? or do i spend more on amp and less on speakers?!

    which would benefit me more?

looking at about £500 for the lot

would connect to pw7 and would be for music and films. was thinking of sat/sub and second hand amp or speakers would be fine if i get more for my money, let me know what you think?!

Personally i would buy a yahama receiver (the 757 preferably) cause it's got all the features you want, great learning remote and awesome sound on surround. If you listen more to music, try out the marantz 5500!

On speakers, i would go with an infinity oreus set... but preferably go over your budget and get some real speakers (like the wharfedale 9.1's)

With the upcoming release of the HD Audio formats I'd put the extra money into the speakers and then buying a new amp in a years (!) time won't seem like such a hardship.

Smiders> you can take those as well indeed, fine choice, also look for the infinity oreus set, i quite like that one! Make sure you got a good receiver though, i'd rather have a good receiver with worse boxes than the other way around, a good receiver and dvd-player really make a big difference.
