Do I need an amp for sky+

    Just got installed last week and have a spare set of Logitech Z5500 speakers lying around. They have 5.1 TXH certified dolby digital and dts hardware decoder.

    Would like to hook em up to get surround sound - will i need anything else?

    Apart from a brain that is

    Looked up the spaec of the spec of the speakers and all you need is an otical cable to connect your sky+ to the amp.
    You also need to go into setup and specify optical output aand dolby digital.
    PS only movies are in DD5.1 and some disney. Most other stuff is in prologic which your amp will decode autiomatically.

    Are you saying that the speakers have in-built amp? Is that what the decoder is?

    I looked it up myself but don't understand the terminology
