The only time you need a special screen for 3D is when you have a setup that uses passive glasses, then I believe you need a glass beaded screen for some reason.

And from what i've just read, all PJs use active glasses, so (i think) i'm OK with the Sapphire screen.

Thanks Sandra51 for taking the time to answer my horrendously noob question

You can set up 2 projectors to do 3D using passive glasses, I know it can be done with Optomas 3DXL box and 2 HD 600X or similar 3D ready projectors but I think you can also do it by using 2 full 3D projectors, without the extra box.
I presume you set one for the left eye and one for the right eye.
For some reason you then have to use a silver screen.
It must have something to do with polarisation but why it has to be a silver screen I have no idea.

Can anyone explain why please ?

You don't need a special screen, you can even project onto a painted wall without issue (see my room;))

Just had a look at your Room photos and i'm now seething with jealousy ;)

You've done a fantastic job - it must be a great experience to watch a movie in your own home, yet feel like you're at the cinema
