About 6 years ago I swapped my dentist, as he had gone private So I move to an other NHS, and for a number of years I was never sent to the hygienist, as I regally clean my teeth with an electric tooth brush and neither drink tea or coffee, or smoke, so really I have nothing to stain my teeth and cause tartar. On my last visit to him he informed me he was going private, as the guy was at the other end of the town and he had a brusque attitude I decided to move back to my original dentist. He also said I should book an appointment for the hygienist. As I was not going back to him I never bothered. On moving to the new dentist I started going for my regular checks and after 3, 6 months check ups said I was looking after my teeth that well I only needed to see him once a year. The last time I want to see him he said you could do with going to the hygienist. I went and after the treatment she said I will see you again in 6 months time, and will send you a reminder. Now how come it is about 3 years since I need to see a hygienist now I need to see one every 6 months. Do they complain to the dentist that they are not sending enough customers to see them since 3 years pervious I should have seen one yet up to the last visit my dentist though my teeth were OK. Or is it purely that as Im seeing the dentist yearly now, it is a form of 6 month check up?
