    hello,

Bought ranibow six 3 from blockbuster last monday for £39.99. Saw an advert in todays Sun for Pc world offering various X-Box titles for £24.99, including rainbow Six 3.

So, naturally, i'd like to get my £15 back from Blockbuster, but do they offer a price promise. Anyone Know?

    Thanks,

    Matthew

I used to work there and no, they certainly do not.

It's hard enough getting a refund out of them.

If you get the manager on a good day they might let you get a refund (within 28 days) by claiming it's an unwanted present etc but probably not: they're very wary of games refunds/exchanges and even have disclaimers up reflecting this policy now (I think).

What you might be better doing, is buying the cheap game from PC World and then taking that (still sealed) back to Blockbuster for a refund, saying unwanted/duplicate gift.

I wouldn't count on this working. People used to try this when I worked there: it absolutely depended on how many refunds we had done that week and how it was affecting our sales targets:

Refunds should have nothing to do with sales targets I hear you say (as they're unavoidable really) but if we did too many head office would ring up and b*ll**k us and then the manager would get in a bad mood and b*ll**k any staff doing refunds so we'd have to pretty much say no to everything -- particularly games, as loads of customers just copied them and brought them back for refund.

But why would they not just rent them if they were doing that. Was/Is the sale catalogue much bigger than the rental one?

    Oh yes:

We used to get b*gger-all rental copies of xbox and GC titles, and not a very wide selection of PS2 titles (apart from wrestling or footie games), and then have masses of retail titles that you couldn't rent: think it was to encourage people to buy rather than rent.

it's a horrible place with draconian policies, don't ask.

Needless to say i don't work there anymore.

It's back up to £29.99 on Play now, I'm afraid.

Boo! or I would have bought it.
