"Digital cameras are now out selling film camers 15 to 1"
    Source: Dixons Stores Group

OK, I could well believe this.

So isn't there a whole 'new market' regarding 'average ' size visual displays to tap into?

I'm no business man but surely the inclusion of a memory card reader on any hi-res TV makes sense. Most people can't connect their PCs to their TV for one reason or the other (mainly because of distance).

It's all about HDTV Ready which isn't even with us yet!
Pushing the marketing towards "View your digital photos in high def/res etc" is a lot easier for your average Joe to take in and appreciate.....

"No more huddling round a 17" PC monitor in the spare room"
"your very own 'digital slides projector' in your living room"
"Enthrall and bore other family & friends with your holiday pics in superb original high res"
"No more low res flickery images on your old TV from a CD-R, just take your card out of your camera and put in the 'TV slot'"

etc etc, you get my gist :)

And here's where you can market your 32" - 42" size displays (DLPs and all !)

So do any of the current DLPs include a card reader?
I think some Plasmas do, not sure about LCDs.

Does an external one exist like you can for a PC via USB?
I think Argos do a 'PAL' one  :thumbsdow

    The Mitsubishi 52" 1080p DLP has a 9 format memory card reader - http://www.goodguys.com/adtemplate.asp?invky=118680&catky=63870

Not available in the UK yet, but I'm sure card readers will start appearing on TVs. A large HiDef DLP makes an excellent way of displaying all your photos, even old negatives scanned.
