How come all of you have projectors? Do so many people in UK own cinema theatres? But many of you refer to it as being at home...

You must be running wonderfully high electricity bills..... I mean creating a carbon arc at home is not something that can run on mere batteries.....

I really don't see the point... Where do you obtain the 70mm or even the 35mm films from.... London sure doesn't seem to have them... Everyone keeps refering me to the studios. And who are you people who have enough room at home to house whole projectors.... It just don't make sense to me...

Oh well, atleast when I get old I can tell my grandchildren...... I have seen the other side.......

    It consists of film buffs.....

P.S. Have any of you installed snack bars? I'd be happy to setup shop at your place...... Of course you being the owner of the premesis will receive discounted rates...

Is this meant to be a joke?
Personally, I have a drive in cinema in my back garden, can get a little over crowded at times ;)

Anyone know a good supplier of red velvet curtains with a 20' drop? Could do with that tear in the screen material sewing up at some time. Balcony could do with a new coat of varnish.

    Kramer:

The name of your cinema will vary depending on what you show.

You AE100 is your Premier screen 1.
Showing the same program/film on your TV gives you a bi-plex.
Showing the same program/film backwards gives you a di-plex.

For an omniplex you require 3 screens or more all showing the same thing.

    Well that's how speakers work...

    What a pointless thread.

I'm logging out from this forum right now. I've much more important things to do with my computer.

    Like processing last night tickting....

I would have thought the point of havin a projecter was pretty obvious m8,,, about 80 inches.
The reason people who like watching movies buy them is because watching a film with 1 and a full sound system is far more enjoyable than on your 14 inch porty,,

Any tips on getting chewing gum out of seats? In screen 1, I have two seats on row AA, at either end with nasty stains! and some other kind of stain in the back row in screen 7, looks like toothpaste.

Also, the handle has snapped for the curtain control (definitely need to go automatic, it's beginning to kill my arms these days)
