DNG Converter and Camera Raw 4.0 update

    Not sure really. Adobe is hoping that DNG will be universally adopted so that it wont matter which camera RAW the images have come from..
    Im not sure there is any disadvantage but Im equally unsure that youll get any benefit since you are unlikely to edit your RAW files elsewhere.
    One good thing it doesn't seem to do is alter the integrity of the original RAW file

    Be aware that this will only work with Photoshop CS3 or Elements 5 (PC) or 4.01 (Mac) ... do not use with CS or CS2 ...

    DNG may come in handy if you decide to change camera brands/get an different pocket camera and don't want to have different RAW converters for each ...

    Yeah, the version 4.0 doesn't support CS or CS2 only the latest 3.7 will work on CS2
