    is ther anyway to turn the ext link off cos it keeps recording when i aint put the timer on on its own ? anyone help !

    I have the same problem. It's a fault on the unit. Panasonic have not validated it so there is no way to turn it off. Your best bet is to do what I'm doing. Take your unit back to where you bought it and get a refund. Then buy a Sony!
