This is a potentially embarrassing question, but, does this machine (DMRES10) record onto hard disc as well as onto DVD discs?

The DVD Video RAM, as well as DVD-R (RW, +R) disc advertising is somewhat confusing (to me anyway).

The DMRES10 doesn't have a hard drive installed at all.
The DVD RAM, -R and +R are different types of format thats all, I think DVD -R is the most popular to work with most players etc.

    Your right, of course.

Having read through the specs. on the Panasonic site, although DVD Video RAM and DVD-R are advertised separately, they are indeed two different disc formats.

I did just wonder, for a second, if the Video RAM was in some way pertaining to a hard disk.

    Thanks!

DVD-RAM effectively acts as a removeable HDD but with less capacity and the fact you can remove the disc.
