Hi All

I have had an EX-85 for a couple of months now and am very happy with the quality of playback and recording

I have transferred many documentaries, dramas and films from a Sky+ box to the Panny and have been copying titles such as Planet Earth (1 episode at a time recorded in XP, then high speed copy to DVD-R), 24 (four episodes at a time recorded to the Panny HD in XP then FR real time record mode to DVD-R) and films such as King Kong (recorded in XP from Sky Movies then FR real time record mode to DVD-R)

Is this the best way to go about this or am I missing a trick...:lesson:

Many thanks for any advice

That seems fine.

Perhaps in your third example you could FR directly to HDD and then high speed copy to DVD... That would save time, and more importantly would be only one encoding.... but I don't know Sky Movies - Does that have adverts that require cutting out? - If so - the benefit is less than it could be... albeit probably still worth it.

Thanks Gavtech

Sky Movies doesn't have ad breaks so will try your suggestion as you say the less encoding the better
