I am ditching my Sky+ Box but will really miss being able to pause live TV, does anyone know if the DMR EH60D is capable of this.?

    Thanks

It will pause the live TV if you are chasing the playback of a recording, but you need to be recording in the first place, although with a HDD capacity of 200GB i'm sure you'll have the space to do so.

Thanks for the reply, so i would actually need to be recording the program in order to pause it.?

Isn't there a DVD/HD recorder available that works similar to Sky+.? I just want to be able to hit the pause button and have it pause.

    Thanks again

I think that's more the province of PVRs for some reason - the HDD ones without any form of DVD drive normally. For some reason many of them buffer and record continuously without user intervention, whilst the HDD/DVD recorders don't.

The Philips HDRW720 can pause and rewind live TV. And also has a six hour buffer to rewind and watch something from earlier.

philips dvd recorders and HD do it - HDRW720 or the new dvdr7300 along with some others philips that I have no refs for(but these dont have the guideplus feature - similar(ish) to sky guide)

it has up to 6hrs recording buffer (user changeable up to 6hrs) of the channel youre watching if you want to rewind live tv. (always records the chennel youre on)

I bought mine on ebuyer recently for 220 quid. - v happy with it so far.

My Panny DMRES20D does it. If you use DVD-RAM discs and record what you are watching you can use the "Timeslip" function.

Yes but the point is you have to select to Record the program.
With proper Pause Live TV, you don't.

It's no problem pressing the record button.
