Is there anyway you can watch a +rw disc on a DMRE85? Just made a disc on my +RW computer and sent it to the folks and they can't get anything on the screen.

    Thanks

I would have thought it would have been able to read the disk it just cant record to RW disks.Maybe your folks player doesnt like the brand of disks you are using.

I am using TDK discs which I would hope are quite universal. Are there better brands?

I have played Maxell and Philips DVD+RW discs on my E-100 with no problems.

When I make the disc on the PC I use the Disc-At-Once option.
I believe this makes them appear as a read only disc.
I don't know if you can also record them as re-writeable, this might be the problem.

are you finalizing the disc, as the 85 won't play them unless they are finalized!

In all honesty mate it's gonna be down to the recording format used on the disc rather than the disc itself. I know for sure that the Panny's will play +RW (until Philips change the recording format again), but if you are creating them on a PC then you need to make sure that the PC is recording them as MPEG2 footage converted to DVD-Video format.
