I'm considering a Panny DMR-E55 as a replacement for my Sony735.
Seeing as it's cheaper than most 2x scart players and also I'm not planning on doing a vast amount of recording (the odd bit of time shift, plus some old VHS to archive possibly), the recording options are somewhat of a bonus.
Most reviews focus on the reording aspect (naturally) of this machine. Can anyone sheld any light on how it performs playing R2, R1 and DVDR movies (am planning on buying a multiregion version) and connecting to a surround amp for DTS and DD (although having to switch to optical rather than coax is a bit of a bind)
One main boon on the 735 is a dic resume option, ie. if I play part of a move, then turn off the player, next time I turn it on the previous place is retained, hence no searching. Does the DMR55 do anything similar?
Cheers
