    Hi folks......

I've thrown out the TV and am now in the process of putting the wiring in place for a projector while I decorate. The problem is I can't easily get the projector in a central position (I need to ceiling mount it) - i.e. I'll have to do some serious re-plumbing in the bathroom above, which I'm keen to avoid !

I know I can get an LCD projector with horizontal lens shift (Z2 and TX100 spring to mind) but am now hooked on getting a DLP - note to self : don't spend too much time watching Sim2 / Runco demos  !!!

Does anyone know of a DLP projector with horizontal lens shift, preferably with DVI/HDMI connectivity for around £2.5k ??

    Cheers,
    Mark

A lot of the new Sharp models have lens shift, if you look at nenix you will see the specs on there.

My Z200 has lens shift and DVI.

Might be worth searching around for prices and seeing if Nexnix will match?

Thanks guys - looking at the manuals for the Z200 / Z1200 I can only see adjustments for vertical lens shift, not horizontal - I need to mount the projector approx 2ft to the left of the screen centre. Am I missing something ?

    Cheers,
    Mark

You are correct should have read your post correctly  the only ones that i know of are lcd which you have stated above. The only other thing to do if it is definitely DLP that you want is use keystone correction.

I should read what I'm looking at before I write too.....

As inzaman mentioned, I'm not aware of any DLP's with horizontal lens shift, and again as mentioned, they do have a horizontal keystone adjustment.

Looks like LCD if you don't want to loose any PQ or spend too much money.
Might be worth haveing a demo with the keystone to see how much PQ you loose.

Best of luck in your search.

Thanks guys - looks like it's either :

    a) Hitachi PJ-TX100
    b) DLP and use keystone correction :-(
    c) a new bathroom/plumbing so I can move the PJ mount.....

Thanks for all your input..... I don't really want to go with option (c) so looks like I need to demo LCD vs DLP+Keystone

Hmmmm... correct me if I've miss-understood, but I thought keystone correction could only fix vertical alignment, not horizontal? Unless you're spending 10k plus...

Nope, my Z200 does both horizontal and vertical keystone adjustment.
