    Hi there.
Being new here I need your advice.

I am upgrading my pana ae200 and have about £1000 to spend.

I am stuck between the pana ae700 and the h30a.
What are the benefits of dlp over lcd, and will the native hd panel on the ae700 be better than the h30a?

    Thanks

    Bryn

    both great projectors.

H30a will give you much better blacks and contrast and colour.

AE700 is native hi def and has a useful lens shift function and very flexible zoom lens.

    What are you future plans.

My future plans are to stop spending money.

Will prob go hd sky when it arrives and may even introduce a pc downstairs with hd.

As for now i need a great pj at reasonable cost as i am buying either a denon 3910 or pioneer 868i, any views on those ?

Cyberheater pretty much summed it up for you.
The advantage of lcd is the extra positioning abilities but dlp's have better blacks.
I went for the Z3 as at the moment I would'nt be able to position a dlp without major hassle.
Plus the native resolutions are better on lcd's at this price so they are more future proof.
Only you can decide which suits your needs best.
Don't be surprised if another DLP vs LCD argument starts off again.

My advice would be to spend less on the DVD player and invest in a more expensive PJ - the Sony HS50 or one of the WXGA DLP's eg Benq 7700.

Both those DVD players are great but I'd question the case for spending so much on an SD DVD player with HD just around the corner. You could just as well buy a Pio 575 or one of the Samsung DVI/HDMI machines as a stop-gap.

    ...PJ :)
