    Hi Folks

I've toyed about for a few months as to which to buy plasma or projector? But limted budget, three kids and the desire for a big screen has made me think i need a projector...but which type? I have a round £1500 to spend (not bothered if its second hand) I don't suffer from rainbows, so which should i go for DLP or LCD. My throw distance is quite short and wanted either a dvi ot hdmi input? so i was thinking of a z2? Does any one have any dates on the new Z3? oh...and i want a 16:9 panel!!

    Whuahahahahahahaha, :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Sorry couldn't resist ! I hope i don't suffer from them too..... or maybe i suffer from screendoor !!!! LOL :D

But wait, i don't even have a projector yet !!! LOL :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Same boat as you mate !

Good luck......if we could mix DLP with LCD and make up a DLCD projector (DLP/LCD), then maybe that would revolutionise front projection and everyone here would upgrade and not sit on the fence like me for the last 1.5 years ! ( See signature !! ) ( KRAMER - ;) ):smashin:

Make sure everybody else who will share your hobby/cinema is equally unaffected.

If you dont suffer from rainbows go for DLP it easily beats LCD. Blacks are black , and no chicken wire effect.

Chicken wire effect is more or less irrelevant on high-resolution LCDs. It's an issue that's much less of an issue than it used to be. I'd agree on the blacks still being a factor, although again, less so with newer items. But a bit of greyness is more tolerable than the rainbow nausea - IMO - IF it affects you or anyone who may share your hobby with you.
