    interesting news tufty thanks.

I remember way back when snoop dogg (although he was snoop doggy dogg back then!) Dr Dre, eazy e etc was all i used to listen to. thankfully i grew out of it!

Not sure how any of his songs will work in RB though as it is hip-hop at the end of the day. drums shouldnt be much of a problem but i hate it when they chart keys or synth (are you listening beastie boys!) on the guitar.

not to mention the gaping holes that will appear in the vocal section where they edit out the naughty bits. I only really know the doggystyle album apart from the commercial releases. some of the songs could be quite fun if done right i guess.

Im gonna hold judgement on this, for it to work it needs some very good song selection and as they say live performances with his band might help.

Either im glad they are branching out in all direction, Country, Rap etc Theres nothing wrong with a bit of change.

P.S. Good to see the GiantBomb love popping up since 1up went down GB has become my new favourite gaming site

It's also one of my favourite podcasts. I stopped listening to GameSpot when Gerstmann, Davis, etc, left. When they popped up with a homebrew podcast discussing drinks, and also with Gerstmann's "Points!" videos from his home, I kept on listening. Having Alex Navarro (now working for Harmonix) come in occasionally adds to my interest, even if has to be incredibly vague about anything Rock Band related.

doggystyle is an brilliant album (imo)....but not for RB. There is no guitar in it.

Very simple drums, imple loops for the entire track, no changes in tempo, chorus etc.....and....well...I just think it will be a sad day if RB franchise loses it roots and goes down this road.

Will just play like that BB track.

I would rather they focussed more on quality music that suits the "rock" and "band" name and making sure those tracks are given real quality treatment and have great charts.

Might as well have the spice girls tbh!

I agree with all of that statement.

I saw Jay-Z last year (not my cup of tea tbh but he was supporting linkin park as were pendulum and NERD who were superb!) and he did all his songs with a live band and i remember thinking that these would work great in rock band.

Personally I think this will only work if they use the live band tracks and if they do, with the right choice of songs (which lets be honest HMX has a bit of a habit of not releasing the "big hit" songs) this could be quite good.

well if they release snoop dogg it gives us a better chance of getting MGMT on Rock Band,
    loving that band right now,
Kids and Time To Pretend are great songs.

these are actually not too bad. there all re-recordings so they actually have proper guitar tracks in them (I was expecting to have to play keys, whistles whatever else they can throw at you on the guitar) so i was pleasently suprised.

not got all of them just a few and they all seem pretty good fun. drop it like its hot even has a guitar solo.

not tried drums yet but they sound pretty simple and repetetive and i would imagine its all talkies. still some decent variety from the usual stuff we get.

Is there a MeShuggah track this week too?

Totally not enough prog/post-metal (whatever you want to call it), so i might have to buy just to show support, and hope they put some Isis or Opeth in RB3.

To be fair, they are "rock" re-recordings, so they do sort of work in the game, despite my distaste for them on a vocals level (which is what I mainly play).

Not really RB material - better suited to "Hip Hop Star" feat Public Enemy, NWA etc etc.
