I was looking at a pair ogf Wharfedale zaldek speakers and thought about what they would be like for home use, would there be any problems (e.g lack of detail). I can get these for £150 for the pair, would the wharfedale diamonds 8.3 be better or are there any better at this price range (floorstanders pref biwireable/ampable), to suit a 80-100wpc reciever.

    Thanks,

    Rich

Years ago I used to do Mobile disco, at home I used four Custom Sound 2 x12 inch with horn tweeter speaker cabinets driven by four separate 250w slave amps from a twin turntable plus cassette console.
Many months of reading hi-fi mags and having spent a wedge on Naim stuff, I ended up with the same sound ! :D

I sold my Technics 1210's last year. I used a set of Cerwin Vegas. I'd highly recommend them for that sort of thing. Cost me £350 at the time but well worth it.
