    ReTrO,

Looking forward to hearing more on this one.

How do these passive radiators work ?

As I understand it, two identical drivers in the same box (out of phase ?) means that you can halve the volume and still have the same output as one driver in the larger box. Is this similar to PR ?

    Regards

This is the first PR I have done, so there will be an amount of fine tuning to be done afterwards to get it wqorking at it's best.

The PR driver moves in the opposite direction to the driver due to the air pressure in the enclosure. In this way it actas much like a port on a ported speaker. The big benefit is that you don't need long ports or wide ports in such a small box, and you also have no chance of port chuffing for fitting a small port in. They can be tuned by changin the mass of the driver also, so we will be aiming to tune the PR to a frequencey below the peak of the drivers output, to extend the depth of the useful bass output.

Sorry for the delay in an update to this thread.

We will add some as soon as is possible.

Not realy groundbreaking news but the amp, driver and PR have been ordered and the MDF has been cut to size.

    Cool.

Give me a shout when you're ready to assemble the parts in your 'workshop' and i'll drop round with any extra tools we may need and the rest of the speaker wadding I have stored away.

Stage 1 complete, after a lot of jointing, screws and glue the basic enclosure is together, all outer joints have been filled and the inside joints caulked. Looks a bit messy at the moment, but watch this space :)

Next jobs are to remove the driver and radiator and cover the box, fill with wadding and wait for T-nuts to be delivered for the driver fixing.

I just didn't like the look or position of them, as the sub is for a paying customer, things have to be right.

ReTrO has ordered some very nice feet today for fitting ASAP maybe he will post a pic if poss.

I didnt like the feet when I first saw them, glad to see you are changing them.

Very impressed with what your doing though, this one is very ambitious, a bit m&k stylie with a passive radiator!
