A friend of mine ordered a plasma from Dixons 2 weeks ago and went for one of the cheap ones they do (against my advise not all plasma are equal)
when it was delivered yesterday he had a bit of a shock they delivered him a pioneer 434 with stand speakers wall mount and av rack
His wife was upset and was going to call Dixons to complain because she liked the silver better :rtfm: After we expained to her that the pioneer was better and was a bargain as they had paid only £1800 instead of £4000 she was abit happyer

The delivery note was correct for the stuff delivered and had his name on ect but cane they ask for it back ????

I got 2 Hotpoint Fridge Freezer's delivered a while back from the same company, they asked for the 2nd one back, and I said "What??? We've only got 1" So they had to accept that. I quickly sold the other one for £400 in the local paper :)

Only if you have made the supplier aware, there's nothing like a free lunch, but you are not entitled to keep it, although if no one notices then so be it, but I am aware of a company successfully sueing an individual and he was charged with obtaining goods by deceit, as like on this occassion, you are fully aware of the error made.

although i beleive this plum actually stated in writing he hadn't received two it was the proven he had.

Ah.. but wait till it needs regassing, then they'll have you cos they'll turn up with the gas for the Techwood and the adapter will be all wrong for the pioneer.

I received a Denon AVC A1SE + 2 channel Denon amp (TOA something??) instead of the A10SE and 2 channel amp! I checked with trading standards and they said that I did not have to inform the company by law and that I could not be prosecuted.

However, they said it was only my conscience I had to live with - well; I've been living with it and the A1SE for about 3 years now!!! I sold the redundant 2-channel amp for £300 a few weeks later, and so someone else got a real bargain too (I paid £450 I think).

Nice one over currys! Sounds like its there own fault...

Anyway ... Is this a silly question but whats all this about having your plasma regassed? Am I missing something...I have had my panasonic 42" for nearly 2 years with no problems...So why and when do they need regassing? or is it a 'currys' myth to promote there lovely extended warranty?

    Hello all

And keep in mind you have to inject the correct colour of gas into each cell - its very important to get the Red, Green and Blue into the correct cells or you'll get odd colours!!!

    Joe

PS We need a new 'tongue in cheek' smiley!

    Sorry jimbob my fault.

There was a thread a while back where a curry's sales person (aka child) told someone on this board that they needed the extended warranty because their plasma needed re-gassing during the next 5yrs of its life... but even better, the warranty was something like £600 but the sales monkey's mate could do him a deal for about half that :smashin:

Plasma's dont need re-gassing (although im sure someone will correct me and say yes they do , after like 100 years of use, doubt mastercare would still cover it ;) .)

The panel is sealed for life, in fact at less than atmospheric pressure, if it leaks out the screen is stone dead. in fact so would you be, cos it means you are in vacuum...
