Several players from Scott,Kiss,Revoy and Elta are now available that can play these formats.
Thinking of getting one sometime and was wondering if any of you guys have experienced them or have any views

Toyed with the idea, but it seems they don't support newer versions of divx and are difficult if even possible to upgrade codecs. This was the case with the kiss player (which was the only one available when I looked a while back-xvid wasn't even supported). As I result I didn't feel It would be of much use.

Things may be different now, I didn't even know other players had been released which supported these various formats.

I think this was true of the Kiss DP-450 player.

I've just ordered the new Kiss DP-500 which purports
to support DiVX 3.11,4.x,5.x and I think is a lot more
upgradable than most DVD players. They've recently
added Ogg Vorbis (!) support whatever that is.

I'm looking forward to trying out it's Ethernet
connection so you can play content downloaded
onto a PC or even stream stuff live assuming you
    have a fast enough connection.

It also has progressive (I think just NTSC) output
and seems a steal for £260

I know the other players all support the newest 5.0 Divx codec and Xvid, they are also flash rom uprade capable.
There is also another player coming soon from Liteon 239euros
the others are all around 270 euros.
Most of these players were launched a couple of weeks ago at the Cebit in Germany.
Check outebay germany and then search for Divx, all the players are there and available to the UK
