DivX playing ability or upscaling to 1080i etc..? which to choose..

Hi all,

I'm at the stage where I've narrowed down a couple of DVD recorders...
the LG RH7900H and the Sony RDR-HX710. The plus side of the Sony is all the usual features including it's ability to upscale images to the various HD formats.

The LG has most of the Sony features and the upside is the ability to play DivX files, the downside is the 520P scaling it is limited to..

which would you go for ???

(PS I don't want to get burned like I did buying a pioneer DVD player in 98 which can't play MP3's by not getting a DivX compatible player - if I can help it..)

thanks for all opinions

Im in the same boat, there is a samsung dvd recorder wihcih has dvd ram and also plays DivX @ £179.99 at Argos but no upsclaing, but I am sure stnadlaone DivX players are not to expensive to buy currently.
