Can anyone recommend a player that handles upscaling and also plays divx movies (and is multiregion)? I can only find the Oppo and the huge thread contains enough niggling comments to put me off (lip sync etc).

Are there any other machines out there that can fulfill these 3 requirements? To be fair I only want the divx capability and multiregion performance at the moment, but will be getting a panel next year and would like to secure one machine to drive it (and my existing CRT for the time being) now.

    cheers

There is the Momitsu V880 DX, which everyone raved about until the Oppo came along.
The Momitsu has 1366x768p mode too, which the Oppo still lacks.

Don't be put off by the Oppo mind. I can honestly say I've never had such lip sync issues, and I use my player a heck of a lot. Bearing in mind the firmware updatability, and you've got a pretty futureproof player. But your choice of course.

Have you considered the V-One SnaZio NET DVD Cinema HD SZ1350 - see http://www.snazio.com/

Cant say I've tried any DivX files as yet but multi region is fine and up conversion from Disc to 720P and 1080i and Output on Analogue YUV or Digital RGB works well.

    Best regards

    Joe

kourosh - thanks mate - I'll search around on this one

shakey_jake33 - do you use your oppo for divx playback? If so is it stable (no stuttering, sync issues)?

mister iks - yes thanks I saw the Denon on the forum front page but wasn't aware of a multiregion hack  - shoulda used the search I guess!

NX3 - I did a search on this model and the comments are 50/50 it seems - do you have one and if so are you happy with it?

Joe Fernand - thanks for the link - I'll do some reading on it.

    Any more recommendations out there?

    Cheers to all

    Intresting
Do they plan to do a DVD recorder with divx, or a home cinema system, as that would be a complete packjage for me.
