As title really, quite new to this, been with sky for years but want to go FreeSat now.

Budget is around £200 and narrowed down to 2 options:

    Humax HDR-1000S
    Panasonic HWT130EB

Any other recommendations? Must be HD and twin tuner is the only stipulation really.

No aerial so YouView not an option.

    Thanks

The Panasonic you mention is Freeview not Freesat.

I'm in the same boat having cancelled Sky and have till the 11th March to get sorted, although I'm thinking of using my Sky box for the CBS and Horror channels and getting a Freeview PVR for the rest as Dave, Yesterday and Drama are free on Freeview but not Freesat s it's the best of both worlds, plus if I'm recording 2 channels on Freeview I can watch a 3rd on Freesat.

Oops, well that certainly narrows it down to 1 haha.

I do do technically have an aerial but i rerouted it to our upstairs TV when i got sky. I could bring it back down tho. Signal is OK but not brilliant.

I'll look into a sky free view combo too. Thanks.

If you get a Humax Freeview+ pvr you can watch a 3rd while recording two anyway and have live pause etc subject to the following

Both recordings from same multiplex, any 3rd channel

Recordings from different multiplex, any 3rd channel on either multiplex

When one of the recordings completes you can then back up the time shift buffer and record the 3rd as well.

Decided to try the freeview route so got a BT youview from amazon for 100 beer tokens, said refurb but looks brand new. Well happy.

Signal not as bad as i thought, found 96 channels and all the HD ones are there.

Means i can keep the sky HD plugged in also, bonus.
