Hi
Can anyone please confirm that
1. The picture from a sky Q mini box can be distributed via an RF Modulator. Plenty of material confirming it can be be done from the Sky Q main box, but nothing about a mini. Can’t see any reason why not but I thought I’d ask.
2. Whether the picture from the skyQ main box can be split and distributed over cat6 using HDMI extenders. I’m aware there were issues at the start but there does seem to be people offering it nowadays.
I currently have the above very set up working fine with Sky HD ( one main box and a second one) but one of the boxes is on the blink a bit and thinking about caving in and upgrading. I just want to keep the distribution as is.
Before you ask, I’m aware of mini boxes but they don’t quite offer the right solution for me.
My main Sky HD box is in the front room , and has a bt sport subscription, via bt, that goes over the cat6 cables in to my man cave and a second front room. With a mini box solution I have to pay for 1 or 2 more bt sport subscriptions to get this. My second Sky Hd box is attached to the rf Modulator that means that we can watch , say, the cricket in any number of rooms that are set up for work, rest, working out, playing pool, sleep, cooking, eating etc. The set up works perfectly for us.
We are not too fussy about enhanced picture quality - the HD picture over the Modulator is superb for us - and being able to watch only 2 or 3 channels at once again is not a problem. What matters to us is being able to watch it in a number of different settings - so even 4 minis is not enough for our big house.
We just want to replicate the current set up.
Confirmation we can would probably push me to switch to sky q
