Distributing HD through a D-VHS box

    Sounds very clever, but I would like to speak to someone who has actually interfaced a PC to a DVHS deck first. I hear that is not as easy as they suggest.

    For your purposes, though, what sort of tapes do you want to back-up? VHS? Can you not just use a DVD recorder?

    have too many to backup. DVD-R yet to show its true lifetime is also a concern.
    also the hd recording facilties plus the in-box features makes this sound quite tasty piece of kit to me. if they only did one with a PAL tuner for the UK market.
    I may explore oue american cousins' forum to see if anyone has done the PC thing with one of these - odds are they have (I hope).
    Looks to me like this would be real handy for early adopters of HD.
