I recently bought a Denon AVF100 system to match with my misson m73 speakers.

I was impressed with the clarity of the sound but was generally dissapointed with the whole sound it just seemed to be lacking in ambience and just seemed flat. Recently the Denon had a fault with the DVD and was sent back for repair. I connected my old Pioneer A300X and a really cheap old wharfdale DVD from a friend and was really suprised at the difference the clarity was not so good but the whole soundstage was better and seemed more full, funny to describe.

It just seemed the Denon lacked the power to fill the room.

I was contemplating trading it in for a Marantz 5200 reciever and DVD player.

Any suggestions or reasoning for the lack of "sound"

    Zach
