Disk Eject 2-The Final Solution.

    Well, zero response - err, thanks chaps.....

    But I found the solution!

    On Xmas eve my sons xbox started doing the same thing,only its owner was more stroppy.
    Googled the fix in seconds from the Xbox community -it's the tiny drive belt just inside the tray opening .
    It either gets grease on it or it just slackens with age -like a few other things....
    Ebayed a deal- Five new belts for £4.
    Maplin do them too (part no. FD36P) but at a considerably higher price if you have no local branch.
    Works a treat and other than the fascia plate theres no dismantling required.

    Best of all it also worked on the two computer DVD drives :thumbsup:

    Excellent news.

    I wouldn't be too upset that you didn't get any responses the first time, someone has to be the first to link this fault in PC internal drives and the same problem in the XBox drive - well done :)
