right , have been given the go-ahead by the missus to spend some brass on a new home-cinema setup for the lounge. The main caveat is that the speakers must be discrete and small (but pack some punch as lounge is large). I have about a £1000-1200 to spend on the amp and speakers.
i am after something which has a small footprint and is not too directional as placement will be difficult.

so recommendations please chaps and i will do some research.

other kit i have in the set-up is :

    panasonic pw6 plasma , panasonic dmre85 dvd recorder, sky+

    thanks

Pretty much what I wanted coming from some hefty Maudaunt Short floorstanders.
It sounds like a sub satalite package is up your alley, i went for a Bose AM10 package but Kef and the new M S Genies are descrete too. If you hide the wires in the walls it looks very neat and wife freindly....ask mine!

    Mornin'

Have listen to the Canton CD Series, you can pick & choose what you want, if you want three centers up front and two satalites at the back then you can!!! Have a look at our site which has got a link to the Canton site for more pic's. They are awsome in terms of dynamic power and punch. If you are interested, come for a demo with your other half for approval, I garrentee you will want them. As well as the whole CD series on demo, we've got the KEF 5005 package here.

    regards

Check out the new small speakers from Lab 47. Not sure how much they are but Ive heard them now both at a show and at a Dealer. Absolutely stunning and very small. Id never have thought deep, accurate bass was possible from such a tiny enclosure.
