Discreet projector set up and in wall speakers

Moved house in December of last year and was in two minds whether I would have a projector set up in this house . Saw Dunkirk in the cinema last week and that soon cemented the idea I wanted one.

As the room isn't a dedicated cinema room I wanted the system to be as discreet as possible so have gone for in wall speakers . I was going to go for B&W m1s but as I'm building a pelmet to hide the screen I may as well incorporate the speakers in there .

I considered an atmos set up but have decided to go against due to the complexities of the room. There was two options for location of the projection system but the front room has a bedroom above it and this room being in an extension doesn't - meaning I can crank it up without worrying about waking the kids . So I've decided to stick the system here but the trade off being it won't be atmos - but I just know I will use it a lot more here.

Kit list

I still have the Denon avr 3313 from my old set up so will use this .

Epsom tw3500 from my old place

Samsung 60" 7000 series

Grandview cyber screen- had one of theirs before and I think they're excellent for the money.

Speakers 5 monitor audio WT LCR 250 and a sub

Source PS 3 and Mac mini running Plex .

Will buy a UHD blu ray player shortly .

As it stands it looks like this

A pelmet will run just above the beam above the TV. This will hide the screen and also house the L C R speakers .

There is an LED rope light here which I will move inside the pelmet (not on in the picture )

A MDF panel will run along the wall with the paint on it where there is currently a lip (just above painting) this will hide the cables running along the room and also have an LED rope light.

A MDF panel will be angle at 30 degrees or so here which will house the rear L R speaker and also a shelf will hold the projector here .

All the equipment will run down the room into a small cupboard between the sofa and Bi folds .

Work starts a week on Wednesday - excited!!

Lovely big room.

Atmos wouldn't work anyway if the whole system is in ceiling anyway.

Can't you have in wall or on wall at the front. In ceiling LCR is a massive compromise considering the other work you are doing.

In this system will be all in wall. My previous set up was all in ceiling and you're right it's such a compromise.

This still isn't a great situation but is a good solution for the room.

Mounted in the pelmet above though? Not mounted in/on the tv wall?

Correct . I wanted to mount on wall but it's a lot of work . Also the speakers will be placed evenly above the projector screen but not the TV . So would look odd when the screen is up - that would bug me . Other option would be to move the TV to the right but its central where it is.

Lux living room. At your photos there is not a speaker in order to be descrite. If I was you, I would go for Dolby Atmos. Dolby Atmos drives roof speakers and you can. Buy as many speakers , you can . More is best from my experience

I'm sorry but that's nonsense.

If all his speakers are in ceiling how will Atmos work? How can you add height overhead when everything is overhead?

His set up in his room is all ceiling speakers. All his speakers are well above ear level so Atmos will not be effective.

To be honest, I did think not much progress was made even for half day.
When we had pelmet, false wall and door moved our carpenter was done in 2 and half days.

Might be worth getting someone else
