Disc Wont Play & No picture from Portable player connected to TV

    hi,
    can anyone help me? i have a -rw dvd that has recorded a programme from another dvd recorder that does not play on my dvd player at home. it does however play on my portable dvd player and so i want to plug that one into my tv.
    i have a scart adaptor and av wire with a jack at the other end.
    when i plug it into the tv it has sound but not picture!!!
    what can i do?

    Can you not finalise the disc on the machine that originally recorded it so that it will play on your DVD player?

    I presume the jack output on the portable will only be meant to carry sound.

    If the scart is specifically adapted for the player for carrying audio and video then ensure that the scart is fully pushed in to the TV socket.
    Sound but no picture is commonly caused by a scart not pushed fully home at one end.

    The unit's output must match the TV. Test your connection by using a known conventional commercial PAL disc.
